Tuesday Ice Session
We are pleased to announce that we have managed to secure ice time 5pm to 7pm on Tuesdays starting 6th April 2010 and running through until the curling season starts in September. This session will be for club members only.

Test and Spiral Spin and Jump Results
Congratulations to Kirsty and Heather who recently passed their NISA tests.
Congratulations are also due to all skaters who gained a podium place in the Spiral, Spin and Jump. Well done to all skaters who took part and helped make it a great competition.

We are pleased to announce that this years Magnum Open will again be the Scottish Qualifier for the NISA Cup. We can now confirm that the event will also be IJS for Levels 1 and above with the Beginners Solo and Pairs continuing to being RJS, there wil be no exhibitions. This years event will also be run over 3 days, Friday, Saturday & Sunday 12th to 14th March. Please note that all IJS entries will require a program content sheet to be completed along with the entry form, there is a elements abbreviations sheet available along with all the paperwork here Open 2010 . The draw will take place on Saturday 6th March 2010 at 10:30am in the Magnum in the room above the pool. Once again many thanks for your patience.

The boys and girls of the Magnum Ice Dance And Figure Skating Club made the short trip down the Ayrshire coast to compete in the Ayr Open competition on the weekend of the 22nd and 23rd August. The club had in total 24 skaters competing in various competitions over the weekend with trophies being won in 9 of the categories by Magnum skaters. The results were as follows;

The next competition is on the 26th and 27th September when 12 skaters take the road and the miles to Dundee to compete in their annual Open competition. The club would like to congratulate those who skated at Ayr and wish all those competing at Dundee the very best of luck.
The club recently held a skating seminar at the rink with coaches Alice Fell, Gillian Otterson and Diane Dewer delivering various group sessions on the ice, supported by the BIG Lottery Fund.
Dimitrios Paparakis held dance classes and Tim Silvester gave the skaters a valuable insight into fitness. Club Coach Fiona Thomson gave a safety on ice talk and NISA technical specialist Anne Findlay gave a talk to both skaters and parents about competitive skating.
